The art gallery was established for the purpose of processing and presenting the donation of sculptor Branko Ružić and donations of contemporary Croatian sculptors and painters, as well as the presentation of works from the field of Croatian art and of narrower regional significance. The gallery uses the monumental space in the Brod Fortress and the gallery space in Starčevićeva Street. For a long time, the Ružić Gallery, which is taken care of by the Art Gallery, was the largest gallery of modern art in the Republic of Croatia. Today, it is an indispensable point for every visitor to Slavonski Brod, but it also attracts many lovers of contemporary fine and sculptural art.
