In the far east of the county, in Velika Kopanica, the restaurant Đeram awaits us. Unique, solid wooden furniture is the first thing that will catch your eye. This is the right place to order the perfect homemade beans! If you want something lighter, there is a juicy perch fillet with kale and potatoes. And of course, the pizza that made the restaurant famous in the area.
Let us return to the road at the foot of Dilj and head into the western part of the county.
When you pass Slavonski Brod, you arrive to the area of Stupnik vineyards, rich in numerous small producers of top quality wines. The Stupnički Dvori Hotel lies at the foot of a large vineyard, through which you have to walk to the top of a hill offering a magnificent view of the area. The cuisine of this hotel will pamper you: deer steak in mushroom sauce, lamb chops with flavoured polenta, duck breast in chocolate and sour cherry sauce, cooked apples with meringues and ice cream… All these wonders complemented by top quality wines of the famous Galić winery!
Take the road west to Nova Gradiška where two top gourmet destinations await us.
The Dukat Restaurant is decorated with many Slavonian details – from lacy curtains, decorative doilies to Slavonian motifs on carved paintings and works of art. Don’t miss out on homemade polenta with sour cream and fried bacon here! The owners, the Arić Family, are the breeders of the indigenous black Slavonian pig “fajferica”, the Posavec horse and cattle of the Slavonian vale. You can buy all their products at the restaurant.
The restaurant Slavonski Biser is an elegantly decorated property in Nova Gradiška, where you will enjoy some very traditional dishes that are popular even outside of these parts. Now, let’s hit the highway and head back to Slavonski Brod.
Just in front of the town, in Lužani, you will come across the beautifully built restaurant Ribarska kuća.
