Numerous wars and devastations (Slavonski Brod bombed in World War II as many as 28 times), as well as the use of wood as primary building material, influenced the number of preserved architectural monuments in our county. However, there are several examples of architecture that have great cultural and historical value. This is especially true for the Fort Brod and 2 Franciscan monasteries in Slavonski Brod and Cernik. Also worth visiting are 2 town squares, in Slavonski Brod and Nova Gradiška, with numerous historical buildings (house Brlić in Slavonski Brod or St. Teresa of Avila Church in Nova Gradiška).
